Chinese Tektite
Tektites are natural glass formed from the result of a meteorite impact where sand is thrown into the atmosphere under intense pressure and heat.
It is estimated that these Chinese tektites were formed from an impact that happened 780,000 years ago.
Named leigong-mo, meaning inkstones of the thunder gods, it was believed these strange, melted stones fell from the sky during thunder storms, often hurled down by the thunder god himself.
