Libyan Desert Glass
A genuine specimen of Libyan Desert glass.
It is believed to have been formed 29 million years ago as a result of a meteorite burning up in the atmosphere and fusing desert sand at high temperatures.
It was shaped into tools by ancient man during the Pleistocene (Ice Age) and was also carved into a scarab that was placed on a pectoral (ancient Egyptian jewellery) that was worn by Tutankhamun.
