Osteolepis

Osteolepis fossil fish from Scotland.
385-400 million years old.
 
An extinct genus of lobe-finned fish, Osteolepis lived in Lake Orcadie, N. Scotland, UK.
They measured around 20cm long and were covered in large, square scales which can clearly be seen in the fossil specimens.
